Join Me on Ficly.com

ficlyGroup writing is fun. And while I can’t fund an event like the Writer’s Week Writing Contest every week, I thought we could still exercise our creative neurons on a smaller scale a couple of times a month.

About Ficly

You may recall that I included the Ficly.com website in my 100 Resources for Writers list. It’s a place for people to set aside ten or fifteen minutes to start a story or write a prequel or sequel to a story that someone else has started. The catch? There’s a 1,024 character limit. It’s a great idea, if you ask me, because it makes writing fiction a little less daunting. It’s something you can do one night a week before bed or every day on your lunch break.

How to Find Me

I’m not affiliated with the site. I’m just a user who set up a new account today. You can visit my profile page and click the follow! button if you’re so inclined. All of my own Ficly entries will show up on that page as I add my flash fiction to the site.

This Week’s Challenge

I’ve created my first challenge, At the Concession Stand. It’s open today through September 30th. If you want to get in the habit of writing and meet other Ficly writers, I hope you’ll join me there.

[stextbox id="info"]UPDATE: 6:30 p.m. The first challenge response has been created by Karen. Read “The Meeting”. I decided to write a sequel to Karen’s short. I call it “Thriller”. You can keep it going round-robin style or write a separate response to the original challenge. Just join us![/stextbox]
